A Final Stab At BracketeeringBy Jeff FalconioThis was one of the strangest Selection Sunday weekends I can remember. With just hours left before the NCAA Tournament brackets are released there is still much debate over who the four top seeds are. Not to mention who gets the final few at-large bids. Mississippi State's run through the SEC along with Temple and USC grabbing unlikely spots puts the squeeze on for Penn State, Auburn and yes even St. Mary's. Even though I've been touting the Gaels all week, I gave the final spots to Creighton, Maryland and Michigan.
So here's my last prediction at the brackets: EAST 1-Pittsburgh 16-Alabama State/Chattanooga 8-Arizona State 9-Texas 4-Florida State 13-Mississippi State 5-Illinois 12-Cleveland State 6-Clemson 11-USC 3-Kansas 14-Robert Morris 7-Marquette 10-Creighton 2-Michigan State 15-Portland State SOUTH 1-North Carolina 16-Morehead State 8-Ohio State 9-California 4-Syracuse 13-Northern Iowa 5-Xavier 12-Western Kentucky 6-Gonzaga 11-Maryland 3-Villanova 14-Akron 7-UCLA 10-BYU 2-Oklahoma 15-Cornell MIDWEST 1-Louisville 16-Morgan State 8-Dayton 9-Texas A&M 4-Utah 13-American 5-Purdue 12-VCU 6-Tennessee 11-San Diego State 3-Missouri 14-Binghamton 7-Siena 10-Wisconsin 2-Duke 15-East Tennessee State WEST 1-Memphis 16-Cal State Northridge 8-LSU 9-Utah State 4-Washington 13-Stephen F. Austin 5-West Virginia 12-Michigan 6-Butler 11-Minnesota 3-Wake Forest 14-North Dakota State 7-Oklahoma State 10-Temple 2-Connecticut 15-Radford Most Popular |
