DAN: Are You Ready For Some Schedules?
By Dan O'Donnell
It's a speculation night paaaaaaarty, because the NFL has released its schedule for the 2008 season. Make no mistake, the Packers have a tough road, since they play the NFC's fellow division winners as well as the tough AFC South.
I will, however, resist the temptation to go through each matchup and predict a final record. It's simply far too early to tell what a team's final regular season roster will look like since the draft isn't for another two weeks and training camp is still months away.
Besides, if there's one thing the NFL has taught us in recent years, it's that it, moreso than any other pro sports league, is unpredictable. Did anyone see the Packers finishing 13-3 and the Bears finishing 7-9? Anyone? Sports Illustrated, I'm looking at you and your whacked preseason picks.
Speculating about records is a fun way to get psyched for the upcoming season (which, by the way, is now only five months away), but it's ultimately a waste of time. Instead start speculating about who you'll draft in fantasy.
