JEFF: Play Ball!By Jeff FalconioMajor League Baseball is back and anticipation is high this year for the Milwaukee Brewers. Hey, why not? The Brewers posted a winning season for the first time since 1992 and also got a taste of a pennant race up to the final weekend of the 2007 season. Now the Brewers return with more veterans and an upgraded bullpen. Is it enough to win the NL Central? On the program today O'Donnell and I gave our predictions for the upcoming year, so in cased you missed it, here it is:
Division Winners
AL EAST: Boston, AL CENTRAL: Detroit, AL WEST: Los Angeles
The wild card goes to Cleveland in what should be one of the better two-way pennant races we've seen in a long time. So, Boston faces Cleveland and Detroit takes on LA in the divisional playoffs. Detroit and Boston square off in the ALCS with the Tigers winning in six games. To the National League:
Division Winners
NL EAST: New York Mets, NL CENTRAL: Milwaukee, NL WEST: Arizona
Look for a revamped Atlanta pitching staff to power the Braves to the wild card spot, so Atlanta takes on Arizona and the Mets face the Brewers in the NLDS. Arizona and New York meet in the NLCS with the Diamondbacks winning the NL.
I've touted the Tigers for a few years now and this is the year Detroit wins the World Series. The Tigers win it in six over the D-backs. Most Popular |
