Michigan's truly stunning loss to Appalachian State is Wisconsin's gain, as the Badgers move up to 5th in the latest AP poll and the Wolverines drop completely out of the Top 25.

So where does the Mountaineers' win (the first for a Division 1-AA team over a ranked opponent) rank among sports' greatest upsets?  The Charleston Daily Mail says quite high.

This wasn't a 16 seed knocking off Duke in the first round of the Big Dance.  This wasn't Buster Douglas knocking out Mike Tyson.  It was Glass Joe knocking out Mike Tyson.  It was Sun Valley Community Technical School & Barber College beating Duke.

Perhaps the only thing more surprising than Appalachian State beating the fifth-ranked team in the country in Ann Arbor would be someone actually getting my Mike Tyson's Punchout!! reference.
