Boston K.G. Party
By Dan O'Donnell
Wow, a little bit of the NBA's the balance of power just might have shifted to the Eastern Conference. Kevin Garnett appears to be headed to Bean Town to join Ray Allen and Paul Pierce on a suddenly resurgent Celtics squad that just two months ago was heartbroken over losing the Oden-Durant sweepstakes.
The deal isn't final yet, but I heard Tim Donaghy bet 10 grand at Caesar's that it will be soon, so Celts fans, it's time to get excited...at least until Garnett remembers that he doesn't want to play in Boston and antes up his no-trade clause.
That's a possibility, but not a good one. Garnett-Allen-Pierce may not be Bird-McHale-Parish, but it should put Boston into immediate NBA East title contention, and that should be enough to lure K.G. to the "Cradle of Liberty." Plus, he'll at last be liberated from the abomination that is the Minnesota Timberwolves.
