So this is Brett Favre's plan for life post-football? Cool, as long as he's allowed to ride the tractor through Jimmy Johnson's air at least once per show.
As first reported on Scout.com's Ranch Report, Barry Switzer says FOX is "talking to Favre" and "might pair him in a segment with (Terry) Bradshaw, I don't know."
That, in this humble blogger's opinion, would be great television--two of the NFL's greatest quarterbacks watching Aaron Rodgers and saying "I could do better than that."
FOX pregame viewers would be riveted by such segments as Will I Come Back By Midseason?, The Ted Thompson Sucks Minute, and I Just Can't Resist Media Attention.
In all seriousness, if Favre is seriously considering a commentator's job, it would be a perfect compromise to the obvious conflict between his deep love for the game of football and his strong dislike for the tedium of practices. This gets him close enough on Sundays without the stress and repetitiveness of Mondays through Saturdays.
I know I'll be watching.
