Falcons reportedly sign Steven Jackson - Could it open the way for Jennings to come back to Green Bay?
ATLANTA - Steven Jackson has reportedly signed with the Atlanta Falcons. The signing is significant in Green Bay because it may open up to the way for the Packers to re-sign Greg Jennings.
"The complicated part is that the fates of receiver Greg Jennings and running back Steven Jackson are woven together because they affect the offense in different ways and have the same representative," said Tom Silverstein and Tyler Dunne with the Journal Sentinel.
The Packers have shown interest in Jennings, and it looks as though without Jackson they may be able to afford him.
"With the Packers $18 million under the salary cap, they can fit Jennings in and still accomplish their goal of signing linebacker Clay Matthews and Rodgers to long-term extensions, if the price is right," said Dunne and Silverstein.
Jennings' future is still up in the air, but we will keep updating this story as more information comes in.
