Fans take NLCS Game 6 loss hard, but keep perspective
MILWAUKEE - The Milwaukee Brewers' 11-6 loss to the St. Louis Cardinals eliminated them from the National League Championship Series, which turned into a 4-2 series win for the Cardinals.
The loss was hard for many Brewers fans to take.
After the Miller Park magic finally ran out, we found fans who were still thankful for a special season.
Many poured out before the end of the game, near 11:00 p.m. Sunday night.
Lots of fans had confidence going in, but with the Cardinals scoring four runs in the first inning and nine runs in the first three innings of a must-win game for the Brewers, the confidence diminished quickly.
"Their starting pitching has been great all season long, and then this whole series they kinda fell apart," explained Jim Carriveau, a fan.
"You cant give up that kind of runs and expect to win a game," said Steve Berg, echoing Carriveau's sentiments.
But one woman summarized the mood at Miller Park well.
"The loss is naturally disappointing but at the same time, they've come so far, it's been such a great bonding experience for the city," said Natalie Banach.
