The Baltimore Ravens, defensive / team leader, Ray Lewis spoke earlier today regarding their upcoming match-up with the Packers at Lambeau Field on Monday Night Football
Quotes:
Maintaining high productivity for a long period of time regarding yourself and the way Charles Woodson is playing this year:
Consistency, the way he started out, the way I started out, we’re just always taking care of our bodies, always studying. You watch…something about him, something about me we just love the game of football. The bottom line, it comes down to competition and if you want to tack it on anything, you tack it on pure consistency. Being a true professional, coming in day in and day out, do you job and always trying to get better.
Do you relish the reputation of being a physical team?
I just think it’s who we are we don’t relish anything. We just like playing physical football and we like being physical on defense. It’s been our motto around here for year, since I’ve been here. It’s just the way it is, there’s no trick to it. We just like playing physical football, bottom line.
Do you feel that your division is more physical than other divisions in football?
Every division is totally different but we have one of THE most physical divisions in football. It’s kind of hard to say that we do have the most physical but we do have one of the most physical divisions in football. Of course with Pittsburgh’s defense, our defense and now even Cincinnati’s defense is even come up on the rise, it’s just such a tossup. It’s a tossup and it’s physical week in and week out.
Is your defense chomping at the bit seeing the amount of Packers sacks?
(laughing a bit as the questions being asked)….I think what you have to go back and look at what happened earlier. Earlier things were going well here or there. The bottom line now is it looks like really they’ve pieced some things together here and there and their offensive line is communicating way better and kind of playing much better. I don’t think you want to get caught up in what happened earlier. I think you want to get caught up in what’s happened lately and as of lately they’ve really been covering up and protecting him (Rodgers) well.
Synopsis:
Lewis feels that (1st year defensive coordinator) Greg Madison has done a terrific job. Lewis said that Madison a great facilitator with all of the interchangeable pieces. Lewis feels that he’s really settled in the philosophy and he treats the players as men.
What does the emotion win on Sunday night vs. Pittsburgh take out of a team trying to come back and play on Monday Night Football. Lewis feels that the extra day of rest benefits the team and that the momentum is there by beating Pittsburgh. He did make a note that the Packers have had 10 days of rest and that helps them (the Packers) a lot. Lewis did make a note to say that he’s a college football junkie and can’t wait to just watch all the games (college and pro) this weekend while he studies for Monday Night Football.
Ray Lewis enjoys Ray Rice and his will and passion for the game. Lewis said that he watch Rice throughout his whole career and was in awe of his passion for the game and told him so when he came to the Ravens. “You find humble people; he’s probably one of the humblest people you’ll find. He’s always energetic about life, always energetic about the game. He’s always trying to find a way to get better.” It started as a business partnership and it’s turned into a great friendship and, “we do everything together, bottom line."

Ray lewis is an amazing player I just love seeing someone with this type of heart and passion for the game. It sure would be nice if we could see this out of AJ Hawk but so far he hasn't been anything to write home about; he just doesn't have the sideline to sideline speed that Lewis has.I am not surprised though Thompson is known for bad draft picks.
