Shout out to Diamond Dave for the honest analysis (Groupies take note). Favre playing football to keep his starting streak intact (which we all know by now is very important to him) rather then spending the moments after his father’s death with his family was definitely the wrong message to send to the fans and groupies alike. And if that truly is what Poppa Favre would have wanted (his son going to work) rather then grieving with his family, gee what a fam.

and the survey said we are ranked lowest among young players, which is no surprise. Young kid signs a multi million dollar contract, he doesn't wanna spend the majority of his time in some small Wisconsin town, he wants to be in Florida, NY, or California where he can go out on his days off and party. I think GB has a bad rep among young players for other reasons to. Charles Woodson said he never wanted to play for GB, but after coming here said that the 'rumors' he heard were all false.

OK...first, the sample size is weak. 296 NFL players - counting practice squads, there are over 2000 current NFL players, so this is roughly 13%. Additionally, this poll is typically conducted months previously - it's hard not to imagine Cleveland and Mangini being number one. On the flip side, this should definitely concern Mark Murphy, Ted, and the Board. Murphy played in the NFL when GB was the Siberia and player were constantly threatened with being traded to GB.

Sizzler, a GM with personality, surely you jest. I guess Parcels comes to mind but he posses a personality that can repel some players. We could ask, which Gm would you rather have a beer with, but how well did that work out for our presidency. The days of landing a Reggie White are over. Perhaps you could get a Favre type player but that would take some one to retire on a team to only end up signing with another, and let’s face it, not every player has that type of high quality character.

This would not be the case if the face of the organization had a bit of a personality. Guys like Thompson do nothing to enhance the organization from a sales perspective. Part of building a strong organization is recruiting (just like in college)- TT's lack of "personality" doesn't lend itself to retaining players/staff, FA's, etc. Their only hope in obtaining more talent is to pay them more - you could say the same for many teams but it is true in GB. I don't think this was true with Wolf.
