A death of someone you love is always poignant, but how hard, not only for Bill, but for all of us who saw that great Mother's Day home run, to have it be his mother.  We don't know that, but if it is....wow.

Nice...just saw Sal Bando in the seats.  Worse to see him there than when he was patrolling the infield, but a lot better than when he was in the GM's chair.  Much better guy, better person, than he was a GM, a la Starr as a coach.
