(AP) -- The New York Giants have signed tight end Travis Beckum, the second of their two third-round draft picks. Beckum is the fifth of the Giants' nine draft choices to sign, joining receiver Ramses Barden (third round), quarterback Rhett Bomar (fifth) and cornerbacks DeAndre Wright (sixth) and Stoney Woodson (seventh). Terms of Beckum's deal were not released. To make room on the roster, the Giants waived rookie defensive end Alex Field. Beckum played linebacker and defensive end as freshman at Wisconsin before switching to tight end. He caught 159 passes -- third on the Badgers' all-time list -- for 2,149 yards and 11 touchdowns in three seasons. His 75 receptions in 2007 tied Lee Evans (2001) for the school season-record.
