The Green Bay Packers (5-6) enter Sunday's contest against the Carolina Panthers (8-3) with the goal of leaving behind the wreckage of Monday night's 51-29 debacle in New Orleans.

To turn over a new leaf, however, Coach Mike McCarthy says the team has to get back to winning the turnover battle, unlike what they did in falling to the Saints.

"You can't turn the ball over, whether it's quarterback's decisions or inaccuracy, or the receiver not finishing the route," said McCarthy on 620WTMJ's Wisconsin's Morning News.

"We don't turn the ball over. We've done a good job of doing that."

"We had a plus-seven turnover ratio going into that game," said McCarthy.

"Plus-10 or more was our goal going into the football season. That's part of our identity as a team. It is a must."

What also is a must to win Sunday is to emotionally let go of Monday night's defeat to regain some confidence and morale before facing a Panthers team that some believe could challenge the NFC East power for conference supremacy.

Sometimes coaches believe they need to analyze every minute detail of a team's loss to try and find the corrections to make.

Others believe you just burn the game film and move on.

"That's the decision you have to make," said McCarthy.

"I've seen it done both ways. I've been part of games where everything went wrong and you just move on, and it usually works out in your favor."

With the Saints game, McCarthy took a big of both approaches.

"I felt it was necessary to take 10-15 plays per position and go back and look at it," explains McCarthy.

"I just believe that if you're going to have the ability to grow from your experiences, whether positive or negative like a number of them were in New Orleans, you need to address them, and then move on."
