Brewers All Wearing No. 42 TonightBy By Jay SorgiNext game: Wednesday, April 15 vs. Cincinnati The Milwaukee Brewers will all be wearing the same jersey number tonight in their game with the Cincinnati Reds. It's the number 42, and it's in honor of the man who broke the baseball color barrier and, some believe, started the modern civil rights movement. Jackie Robinson accomplished that feat 62 years ago today. To honor him, the Brewers are having every player and coach wear number 42 tonight at Miller Park. It's a break from major league tradition. Years ago, they retired the number 42, meaning no player would ever allowed to choose the number for their regular uniform. Players such as Yankees closer Mariano Rivera were grandfathered in and allowed to wear their current 42.
