Sorgi: Braun is on the cusp of reaching Albert Pujols-level production.  His average and slugging percentage actually dropped from '07 to '08, but when you hit home runs that put the Brewers into the playoffs, those stats can be forgiven.  An improvement over '08 could garner Braun NL MVP hardware.  It may be necessary to garner an '09 Brewers postseason berth.

Welter: I have this feeling he will start slow, but finish the season with chants of MVP.  More

Sorgi: A locker room leader, he'll have to play a leadership role on the field to help Milwaukee explode for big runs.  His huge problem is being strikeout-prone, average more than a K per game for seven of his last eight campaigns.

Sorgi: Coming off shoulder surgery, Duffy has risen from a non-roster player spot in camp to the de-facto replacement for Tony Gwynn, Jr.  He has some wheels (26 SB in 84 games for Pittsburgh in 2006), so he could be an off-the-bench sparkplug.

Sorgi: The last time Hart sniffed .300 during the '08 campaign was June 12th.  Iin the previous 14 games before that day, he only had 4 K's.   Compare that to the end of the year: 15 K's in his last 13 games.  An amazingly talented player must change that up to get the boo birds off him.
