In a press conference for his receiving the NFL's "FedEx Air Player of the Year" award, Favre says there's no call yet on whether to play for the Packers during the 2008 season or beyond.

"I haven't decided yet," said Favre. "We just played a little more than a week ago. I'm going to take a few weeks.

His announcement of an extended timeline counters an earlier statement that he would attempt to make a quick decision.

"Our coaching staff will be at the pro bowl next week. When they get done, (Packers Coach) Mike (McCarthy) and I will discuss.

"We spoke about it a few days ago; we'll discuss it more in a couple weeks."

Both Favre and McCarthy received awards from the NFL, as McCarthy received the league's "Motorola Coach of the Year" award.

Both awards came from fan voting on NFL.com. Favre won his for the best quarterback performance of the year. Jacksonville Jaguars running back Fred Taylor earned the "Fedex Ground Player of the Year" as the year's best ground gainer.
