GREEN BAY, Wis. -  Green Bay Packers defensive lineman Johnny Jolly's season officially ended when the team placed him on injured reserve Wednesday.

Jolly started seven of the first 10 games of the season at right defensive tackle for the Packers, but injured his shoulder in the team's Nov. 18 victory over the Carolina Panthers.

Green Bay a capable replacement in Corey Williams, who has started the past three games, but Jolly's injury might limit defensive coordinator Bob Sanders' ability to keep the Packers' interior line fresh through frequent player rotation. With Jolly sidelined, first-round pick Justin Harrell and fellow rookie Daniel Muir have been called on to contribute more.

Green Bay also claimed defensive tackle Conrad Bolston on waivers from Minnesota.

Bolston spent the first 12 weeks of the season on the Vikings' practice squad before he was signed to the active roster Nov. 28. He appeared in one game and was credited with a tackle.

The 6-foot-4, 300-pound player from Maryland, originally signed with the Vikings as a non-drafted free agent in May.

Green Bay also signed former Houston Texans defensive tackle Alfred Malone to their practice squad and released tight end James Adkisson.

NOTES: The Packers' No. 3 and 4 cornerback spots are up for grabs in practice this week, with Jarrett Bush, Tramon Williams, Frank Walker and Will Blackmon likely in the mix. "We have a number of players that are pretty close as far as the way they're playing," McCarthy said. "Some haven't had the opportunity that the others have. I think that will clear itself up as we move forward. We're not having tryouts. We're putting guys in there and they have to play, and play well. The standard is set." ... The Packers listed 10 players on Wednesday's injury report, all of whom were limited in practice: CB Jarrett Bush (calf), LT Chad Clifton (shoulder), G Junius Coston (ankle), TE Bubba Franks (knee), CB Al Harris (heel), WR Koren Robinson (knee), QB Aaron Rodgers (hamstring), RT Mark Tauscher (ankle), LB Tracy White (ankle) and CB Charles Woodson (toe). ... McCarthy said he hoped Franks, who has been out since the Oct. 14 game against Washington, would be able to play this week.
