For the first time ever, 3,000,000 fans have bought tickets for Brewers games in one season.

The team announced that it sold its 3,000,000th ticket for the 2008 season Thursday morning.

The Brewers have sold out 21 consecutive home games and 37 home games overall for this season, and the team has already surpassed the all-time attendance record at 2,869,144.

"Quite simply, 3,000,000 fans is an incredible number and all credit goes to the fans who have demonstrated their support all season long," said Brewers Executive Vice President Rick Schlesinger in a statement.

"We thank each and every one of the fans who have come through the Miller Park gates this season and hope that they take as much pride in this record as we do."

The team said in a release that it expects Monday's Labor Day game against the New York Mets to sell out, and Tuesday night's game could be a sellout as well.
