We'll keep you abreast of everything going on here at the U.S. Bank Championship with a live blog on 620wtmj.com and updates every half hour on 620WTMJ, both until 2:00 p.m.

More: Fred Keeps Funk on PGA Tour

1:49 p.m.
Jon Mills has caught the leader.  A birdie on his 17th hole - the eighth - has brought a rarity, a guy on the opposite nine of the day's original leaders owning a share of the lead (-10) with Nick Flanagan.

1:36 p.m.
Flanagan's coming back to earth a little - a bogey on nine, so he's -10.

1:32 p.m.
What a difference a lunch break makes.  Nick Flanagan is one of a few golfers that has actually moved in this wet quagmire of a day.  He's at -11 under, two shots over the only golfer at -9, Jon Mills.  He's gone OFF - six birdies today, three in his last four holes.

Mark Wilson's also made a solid move.  The pride of Menomonee Falls has three birdies in his last four holes, too, and he's -6 through 16 holes.

12:46 p.m.
Bill Haas is hot...three birdies in his last three holes to get to -9, one shot out of Nick Flanagan's lead.

12:44 p.m.
Local golfer update: Mark Wilson of Menomonee Falls - four birdies, two bogeys and a double bogey means an even par round, on pace for a 70, still -4.  Jon Turcott of Middleton: steady going, just a birdie and bogey in his first eight holes, -2 for the tourney.

12:34 p.m.
Nick Flanagan has the solo lead at -10 after a Johnson bogey on five, and Bill Haas has a tie with him after a birdie on 10.

12:03 p.m.
Nick Flanagan pulled back into a first place tie, nailing a 24-foot birdie putt on No. 3.

11:56 a.m.
It's RIchard Johnson's lead (-10) to lose now, as Nick Flanagan has fallen off the lead with a bogey on two.

11:21 a.m.
Rain is steady, and so is shotmaking.  Jason Gore is now two shots off the lead (-8) after a birdie on 2.

10:20 a.m.
Drops are coming down, but the golf continues - it's a slight-more-than-drizzle rain, but not horrible.  No one has yet broken past -6.  Mark Wilson had a double-bogey at four, so he's now down to -3 for the tourney.  That far back, any doubles kill your chance at a comeback win.

10:05 a.m.
The logjam at the top on the course is now at -6, with five golfers on the cours there - Ryan Palmer, Dustin Johnson, Carlos Franco and Robert Garrigus at that mark with early birdies.  John Huston parred his first hole to stay there.

9:45 a.m.
Guys must really be taking advantage of the conditions, with soft greens making birdies readily available. Ryan Palmer and Carlos Franco have both gotten birdies on their first two holes, and they're now at -6.

9:34 a.m.
Mark Wilson has already made a move...a birdie on one to get to -5, five shots back of the leaders, Richard Johnson and Nick Flanagan.

9:10 a.m.
Golfers are now on the course.  At 9:20, it's Mark Wilson from Menomonee Falls, and he's got to be excited to have a round with Corey Pavin, a former U.S. Open champion.

9:03 a.m.
It's the first time I have to pull out my sunglasses this morning.  It's seven minutes before the first golfers tee off - Deane Pappas, Ryan Palmer and Omar Uresti on No. 1, Brad Elder, Jim Gallagher and Tim Herron on No. 10.

Interesting to see maybe two golfers working on their bunker game by the practice green, and a LOT more of them on the green.  Rather symbolic, I think, of the top-flight shotmaking and the relative ease of this course compared to most venues.

Folks, it's not easy for me - I'd shoot a 62 (Gavin Coles's Friday score for 18) in about four holes or so.

8:40 a.m.
Fans are now starting to pour on the course...and they are ready for cooler, rainier conditions.  Many, though, want the British Open results...and there's not a lot of places to find that out.  Perhaps it's the conditions of Royal Birdale that bring the British feel to this tourney that's being held simultaneously.

By the way, I find it amazingly awesome to see Kenny Perry here to go after a pad of his stats in the Ryder Cup rather than go after a major.

7:54 a.m.
Aaaahh...the first glimpse of the sun through the gray flannel skies above.  Golf is scheduled between 9am-4pm, so if there's a need for some rain delays, there's plenty of daylight to make it up.  There's no retractable roof big enough to cover a golf course like there is at Miller Park...but it gets me thinking: is there tailgating allowed at PGA tour event parking lots?

7:30 a.m.
These could potentially be the best possible shotmaking conditions today, should the weather hold out.  This morning's rains have made the greens slower, and on a course that's notorious for allowing -20 winning scores for the tournament, that's definitely a possibility this weekend.

Don't be surprised if Gavin Coles' 62 from Friday gets bounced for the score of the tournament.

6:58 a.m.
I'm sitting here on the sort of "corporate sponsor" row, where our broadcast position is located, and kiddy-corner from us is the Aurora Health Care kiosk that has one of the funniest medical-education displays I've ever seen.

"Super Colon."

It's an overgrown part of a colon that allows people to see the difference between what happens when you have good health and when you have colon cancer.  It explains why you should have colon checkups, but the idea of "Super Colon" brings up rather hilarious ideas, which I will leave to you in fear of potential FCC retaliation.

6:29 a.m.
This is something real special, watching the volunteers drive and walk past with smiles on their faces on a morning that you rarely might see them awake.  A big set of kudos have to go out to them...they drive this event and allow for it to make money for the charities the USBC serves here in town.  Cool stuff.

I guarantee, though, they are wired with coffee.

5:59 a.m.
If you want to check out the local guys, you can see Menomonee Falls' Mark Wilson teeing off the 1st hole at 9:20 a.m. and Middleton's Jon Turcott at 10:40 a.m. off of No. 10.  Those guys made the cut.

Dan Woltman and J.P. Hayes didn't - they missed it by one stroke, while Skip Kendall and Mike Johnston - the MIlwaukee driving range pro - were out by three shots, and UW golf coach Jim Schuman missed by four shots.

5:50 a.m.
Pink-gray skies run above Brown Deer Park right now as I'm the first to arrive in the land of media.  Rain is pelting the course as we speak, but we have three-hours until first tee-off.
