Click here to listen to Newsradio 620 WTMJ's Jay Sorgi report on how a performance of The Nutcracker will turn into a Brewers-Cubs game...and no, the Marcus Center won't turn into Wrigley Field North.
It's the Nutcracker, with a major-league infielder from Whitefish Bay and a 12-foot tall brat and chorizo.
Head-first slides may not be included in the dance moves involved in the Nutcracker, so Brewers' infielder Craig Counsell will have to learn some new steps in his ballet debut when he and the Racing Sausages perform in the Dec. 29 performance of the Nutcracker at the Marcus Center.
The Milwaukee Ballet is adding Counsell, the Sausages, TV celebrities and U.S. Army soldiers to the marching toy soldiers, fairies and dancing teddy bears in little Clara's dream scene.
Milwaukee Ballet Artistic Director Michael Pink calls the 'Nutty Nutcracker' a global tradition where companies all over the world bring in celebrities to spoof the real ballet during Clara's dream scene.
Pink says that scene will include a battle between the Toy Soldiers in Brewers jerseys and the rats, dressed as the Chicago Cubs.
He also suggested the battle turns out different than what happened in the 2007 NL Central standings.
