Did You Know: If you've listened to Bill, you've probably heard him talk about his nickname, "The Big Unit." Bill explains, with a grin, "Isn't it obvious? I've had this nickname since sixth grade. In eighth grade, I was six foot five inches tall. I've only grown one inch taller since then."
Before coming to Milwaukee, Bill spent 5 years in Cincinnati honing his sports talk talent at:
700am WLW & All Sports 1360am HOMER (Clearchannel)
All Sports 1230am THE SCORE which has now become
All Sports 1160am BOB (Chancellor)
Bill began his broadcasting career at WRCR-FM in Rushville, Indiana.
Bill is a native of Cincinnati, Ohio.
He attended The Ohio State University - Communication Arts and Journalism.
Bill is a Buckeyes, Bearcats, Reds, Bengals,
Cyclones (ECHL Hockey) and Panthers (Elder High School) fan but PLEASE don't hold that against him. He's trying!
He also is a huge fan of Bobby Knight.........That proves it..........he's NUTS!
Bill grew up following the Packers. His father was a huge Bart Starr fan. His mother was a fan of Oscar Robertson as well, who as you know powered the Milwaukee Bucks to an NBA title. Bill followed the sports teams in Wisconsin even before he came to Brew City.
As far as the local teams, you can find him attending a game almost every night of the week. He has adopted Milwaukee as his own and knows the hometown teams like a Milwaukee native but even he admits that he has a long way to go. Bill says that some of the most enjoyable time he has had here in Milwaukee has been spending a warm summer evening out on the Loge at County Stadium watching a baseball game...then again, sipping a beverage at Summer Fest, riding his new Harley, boating on Lake Michigan or swingin' the sticks at one of Wisconsin's fine golf courses are pretty awesome as well!
Bill's Quotes:
"BE YOURSELF" and.......
"SLOWER TRAFFIC KEEP RIGHT".....YES, it's the LAW! I don't make this stuff up.
