Pack Roster Decisions and Much More

By Todd Welter

Labor Day weekend is upon us and the Llama has some business to attend to down in the hometown of Johnsburg. Just some quick thoughts before I head back to Skyhawk-country....

-If the Packers can stay healthy, Aaron Rodgers in particular, this is an 11-5 team and should contend for the NFC North crown. The first string looks scary good. The second string just looks scary.

-I do not see how you can leave Tyrelle Sutton off this roster. Do not give me this "he is too small" to play the game. If anything, hand him the ball and he can fit comfortably in a lineman's pocket to pick up ten yards--plus, you can avoid those costly illegal man down-field penalties).

-I know DeShawyn Wynn can get it done at the NFL level. We have seen it, occasionally. Kregg Lumpkin not so much. That is why I am going with Wynn landing the final tailback spot.

-Is it wrong to want Danny Lansanah to make the roster just because his name reminds me of a character from Welcome Back Kotter?

-Ruvell Martin should make the roster not just because he is Aaron Rodgers' boy but because he can actually make a big play every now and again.

-Oregon was right to suspend LeGarratte Blount for the season for his little sucker punch episode in Boise. They should have gone one step further and revoked his scholarship for the season. If he is truly remorseful, show it by paying your way through a semester and showing you are willing to improve yourself as a person.

-Boise's Bryon Hout deserves a scolding but not a suspension. ESPN's Robert Smith put it best when he said there is difference between unsportsmanlike behavior and criminal behavior.

-Four years and 16-million, thanks for the memories Ramon Sessions. With Brandon Jennings as the anointed one and Luke Ridnour still around to tutor him, Bucks general manager John Hammond should just send out the "we wish Ramon the best" press release right now.
