Brett Favre, Geoff Jenkins, One in the Same

By Todd Welter

Allow me to put my wacky conspiracy theory cap on.  My roommate was painting the new French doors so maybe the fumes is inspiring me to write this.  I believe Brett Favre and Geoff Jenkins are the same person.  That is right.  Brett Favre did not retire from the game because he could not handle being the pressure of being himself.  It was because he could not handle living a double life.  Something had to give and the nation's pass time always wins it.  Besides, baseball is less physically demanding sport.

So what proof do I have for my conspiracy theory?  Have you ever seen the two in the same room?  I didn't think so.  The southern accent was just a disguise.  Batting lefty was a way to throw everyone off the trail.  Come on it makes sense!  Jenkins struggles always came just around training camp time.  He once missed all of September with a thumb injury.  That is what they you want you to think.  It was more like he had bigger responsibilities at Lambeu Field and Mike Sherman threatened to spill the beans if Brett/Geoff missed practice.  The major reason #4 walked away from the game was because he could not handle the pressure of what name to go by.  A Brett divided just could not stand!

Seriously, it is great to see Geoff Jenkins back at Miller Park.  Granted it is weird to see him wearing a different uniform and number.  Brewers fans gave Jenks his proper respect for a guy who played all out and stuck with this team through some very dark years.  Then again, if my conspiracy theory is right, Jenkins could put up with the losing because he did a lot of winning as Brett with the Packers.  Man, I need stay away from the lacquer.
