The Road WarriorsBy Joe Scialfa
In reviewing the Giants’ victory at Dallas, it’s abundantly clear that they will not be intimidated whatsoever in playing on the road in the NFC Championship game.
The Giants’ major problem is their defensive secondary, due to the injury loss of CB Sam Madison and rookie CB Aaron Ross – who has been a standout.
The Giants’ strength is their pass rush. But pass protection has been the Packers’ forté all season. Green Bay’s 19 sacks are third fewest in the NFL.
On Sunday, expect the Packers to spread the Giants’ secondary with four or even 5 WR sets. Weather permitting, I would expect Mike McCarthy and Brett Favre to look downfield against an already thin NY secondary.
