Our softball team didn't get new jerseys or shirts this year.  I could wear last year's model, but won't out of protest.  Here's where you come in.  I pledge to wear a donated t-shirt at my softball games for the rest of the season.  There are six games left.  You too can be part of history.  What better advertising than have a local softball legend (ahem) hit a homer wearing your shirt?   My free gift shirt from Little Bomemia didn't do the trick.  I didn't come close in my quest for one more career homerun.  So, that shirt goes in the donation pile.  Surely you won't have me wear this shirt I got this week?

Get me your shirt.. (size XL), I'll throw it in the hopper.  If I hit a homerun, I will give you all the credit.   i will also wear the shirt the rest of my career.   However, if I don't, it will be all your fault.  Extra shirts will be donated to Goodwill Industries. 

The second T-shirt donation will be from J & L Tire in Johnson Creek.  Lyle and the boys there provided me with a slick black T-shirt that almost did the trick.  I had an early hit and then flew out with the leftfielder making the catch with his back against the wall.  Missed it by a few feet.  So, that shirt goes in the donation stack.

UPDATE:  Add a Shirt from Maglio Tomatoes to the Goodwill pile.  It's a beauty with "I heart tomatoes" on the back.  Didn't do much for me.  Frustrated that 4 of our players skipped the game to watch the Home Run Derby (what are they, 10 years old?  It's called TIVO, DVR or even VHS), we had to play with 8.  It wasn't pretty and I wasn't happy.  Not even close to the fences, 2 for 4 with a double in a loss to a team we should have beaten.
