My fascination with Clay Aiken has taken an unexpected turn.  As I lay in a fever induced haze, I heard the "news" that Clay Aiken came out of the closet.  I thought I was hearing wrong.  I have always watched with morbid curiosity the 50 to 60 year old women who thought he was a sex symbol.  Claymates, as they call themselves, are everywhere.  Check out the freaks in  this group out of Georgia.  Or this Claymate forum where fans are expressing their shock.  HOW CAN THEY BE SHOCKED?  My favorite post, "maybe I can change him".  Clay has a great voice, I have never cared about his sexual preference.  I just always assumed, like anyone with a semi-working Gaydar, that he was gay.
