Who says there's a recession going on?

In early August 2006, 30-year-old Raed Jarrar was in the process of boarding a JetBlue flight from New York to Oakland.  Jarrar, a self-described "activist" and anti-war lobbyist who holds a U.S. green card , was wearing a t-shirt with the phrase "We will not be silent" printed in both English and Arabic.

As he was trying to board the plane, a TSA official pulled Jarrar away and took him to the JetBlue counter.  Once there, he was told that his shirt made other passengers uncomfortable and that he had to cover it if he wanted to board the plane.  The airline then gave Jarrar a new shirt which he put on over his t-shirt.  JetBlue agents also changed his seat assignment from the front of the plane to the rear and made him board first.

Claiming that he was discriminated against based on his ethnic background and religious faith, the ACLU sued on behalf of Jarrar.  Today, the lawsuit was settled when Jarrar was paid $240,000.

Later today, we'll discuss whether this "activist" had a legitimate beef or whether he's just the latest guy to win the ongoing legal lottery?
