I'm sure it seemed like a good idea at the time.

     Wednesday morning, Keith Walendowski got angry after his lawnmower wouldn't start.  In order to show the finicky machine who was boss, Walendowski retrieved his sawed-off shotgun and fired twice into the defenseless Lawn Boy.

     When authorities arrived, Walendowski acknowledged shooting the mower and claimed that since " ... it's my lawn mower and my yard, ... I can shoot it if I want."  Uh, no - especially if you use an illegal sawed-off shotgun!

     In what should come as a surprise to no one, alcohol was involved in the incident.

     As an aside, as the old saying goes, you always have to be careful not to judge a book by its cover.  That said, I confess that, for what it's worth,  Mr. Walendowski looks exactly as I pictured him when I first heard about this story Frday morning.
