His parents say that they have 5-year-old Adriel Arocha wear his hair long because of religious beliefs tied to their Native American heritage.
Adriel's mom intends to enroll him in kindergarten next Fall in the rural Fort Bend County, Texas school system. According to the District's grooming code, Adriel would be required to have his waist length hair cut as a condition of attending school. The boy's mom says that she will not cut his hair because it will violate the family's religious belief.

Later today, we'll discuss whether the school district should simply leave this long-haired country boy alone?
