This is the first time I ever linked to Maureen Dowd. She nails John Edwards's stupid Nightline confession. The only mis-step in her riff was to mention G.W. in her otherwise brilliant analysis of how "super-strivers have a need to sell what is secretly weakest about themselves, as if they yearn for unmasking."

The only question I have is WHY is the press giving the Edwards a pass on the recent hotel rendezvous? If the affair was over last year, what was Edwards doing back in hotel with Rielle last month?
