Performance negate questions

By James T Harris

Images12David Cooks, Marquette University High School's varsity basketball coach, told me something once that stuck with me. It's one of his "Cooks-isms."  He has a ton of them. He said, "performance negates questions."

After last night's scrimmage, Green Bay Packers fans have a lot of questions. Aaron Rodgers and the other Packers quarterbacks looked terrible.

Flat out bad. At this point, the Mississippi Hickey may just be Green Bay's knight in shining armor.

Here's another saying: "If you don't play a big enough game in life, you will screw the game up just to make life more interesting." There is no doubt that Favre screwed things up... royally! But look at him now. He is energized and ready to go. He created this controversy because he was bored . . . he wasn't playing a big enough game.

What's bigger than football in the NFL?  Plenty.

But Brett hasn't realized that yet. So he went back to the well once more, possibly leaving careers in his wake. Yes, performance negates questions, but a big question is still looming over #4.  What is the game in life that will be big enough for Favre when football is over?
