Major League Baseball: The Milwaukee Brewers

WTMJ broadcast its first Milwaukee Brewers game in 1971.

Merle Harmon was the first play-by-play announcer for the Milwaukee Brewers on WTMJ, in 1971. He went on to become one of the nation's most respected network sports announcers. Merle's son Keith now works at WTMJ selling advertising on the station's Brewers, Packers and Bucks Radio Networks.

Bob Uecker, known affectionately to millions around the nation as "Mr. Baseball," has been the "Voice of the Milwaukee Brewers" on WTMJ for more than 30 years. In 2001 he joined WTMJ's Gordon Hinkley as Wisconsin's only national Radio Hall of Fame inductees.

After Merle Harmon left the Brewers broadcasts, Bob Uecker assumed play-by-play duties. Milwaukee Brave Johnny Logan is among those who've joined Uecker in the booth throughout the years.
