Background:  Larry's interest in radio and announcing began early.  He volunteered as Public Address Announcer for the little league baseball program in his hometown.  During high school, as equipment manager for the baseball team, Larry did mock pre-game interviews with the players-on the field.  He worked for two radio stations while attending Southern Illinois University.  Larry began his radio career at WGLC in Mendota, IL .  He spent 16 years there as Sports Director handling play-by-play duties for high school and junior college events.  He served as News Director for ten years.  Larry held similar positions in Harvard, IL for two years before leaving full-time radio in 1996.  Since then, Larry has done part-time radio and TV play-by-play, and called Greyhound Races at Geneva Lakes Kennel Club until they closed in 2005.  He's elated to have joined the WTMJ news team.

:  Larry enjoys bowling, golfing, and playing softball.  He also lectors at his church in Fontana .
