The Packers Win, But Lose BIG

By Dan O'Donnell

If last week's victory over the Dallas Cowboys was season-saving, the Packers' 30-24 win over San Francisco Sunday unfortunately migh have been season-ending.

Head Coach Mike McCarthy just confirmed in his weekly press conference that both Al Harris and Aaron Kampman both need knee surgeries, and as a result both will be done for the rest of the year.

Though Kampman struggled with his new role in the 3-4 defense, he remained a veteran leader in both the Packers' linebacking corps and the locker room. Harris, meanwhile, was having yet another solid season at corner, and his loss will be likely absolutely devastating to the secondary.

How do the Packers replace two Pro Bowl-caliber defenders? How can they? It's incredibly unfortunate that Green Bay's season seems now to be unraveling just as it was coming together.
