Doug Davis to the Brewers?

Sports Illustrated is reporting that the Brewers have put in a waiver claim on Arizona (and former Milwaukee) lefthander Doug Davis, meaning that the Crew has about 24 hours left to work out a deal.

 

The Journal Sentinel's Tom Haudricourt, though, thinks a return is unlikely, writing that Brewers GM Doug Melvin told him "a deal is unlikely."

 

That's probably a good thing, since Davis would be owed approximately $3 million for a month and a half of work!
