TAXES DRIVE OUT WEALTHBy Charlie SykesI'm tempted to say, Duh. But this apparently continues to baffle politicians... like this ones running Wisconsin these days. BusinessWire - Boston College's Center on Wealth and Philanthropy today released a study showing that from 2004 through 2008, $70 billion dollars in wealth left New Jersey, while the state's charitable capacity declined by $1.13 billion. ...
From 1999 through 2003, New Jersey saw an in-migration of wealth of $98 billion and, in the same period, charitable capacity increased by $881 million. From 2004 through 2009, the complete reversal of that trend occurred, which amounted to a total decline in charitable capacity of approximately $2 billion. "This study is important because it is the first time we have captured the movement of household wealth from one part of the country to another," said John Havens, Senior Research Associate at the Center on Wealth and Philanthropy. "The migration of wealth out of New Jersey is substantial and significant." |

@Mark - I'll try again, and hope I don't get censored. The Original Sin was quest for Power - we're still dealing with that, especially now

I've never been able to identify with that "Lord-over-others" genetic makeup. I know it's endemic in many folks, but I don't know why. It's crystal clear that that camp desires complete dependence on them by the rest of us. What drives this need for power, I wonder?

After Obama & Co. get done targeting the wealthy and successful, they'll aim lower. Next up, the middle class. Soon there won't be any more groups to go after for taxes and to pay for everything that the government wants. Then what? Well, that will be the "utopia" that socialists like Obama and his co-horts desire. The people will be dependent upon the government. What a wonderful world!

Liberals do get it. Their goal is to drive out businesses so as to make more people dependent on government handouts and therefore become a bigger voting bloc.

Even before I saw the first sentance I said "Duh"! This concept has been proven time and time again. It is as solid a law of economics as gravity is to physics. Liberals don't get it. They spent that class being asked how they FEEL about economics instead of learning usefull information.

But you have to have both. So limiting taxes and regulation fosters commerce which drives up wealth. Increasing either drives down wealth.
