BC, Scott Walker has no control over MPS as he is the COUNTY supervisor, not in his job description...and Anon, it would seem to me that libby demmys would want someone like Walker to be elected...the more money he saves just gives the state senate more money to hand out in free entitlements....and to be honest, my garbage still gets picked up, my snow and leaves still get attended to, the parks are still quite beautiful...Walker has done his job well AND saved us money to boot..Walker for GUV!

bannedcat...Last time I checked Walker is involed with the COUNTY of Milwaukee not the CITY of Milwaukee. If MPS was under Walkers sphere of influence my guess is he would have made changes or proposed changes to it. Barrett has done nothing more than look the other way. MPS is a joke and an embarassment to not only Milwaukee but the State of Wisconsin.

I believe most people realize that the legislature is planning to increase the powers of the superintendent...giving the kind of control to an elected education official that the mayor would have had. This makes a great deal more sense than adding another job to mayor given that most cities w/ mayoral control have seen no measurable school achievement gap progress. It is disingenuous to blame this issue on BArrett for simple political advantage. Where has Walker ever been on this issue?
