THE UW TIE TO CLIMATEGATE

By Charlie Sykes

The Maciver Institute has the details.

Some prominent Climatologists who subscribe to the theory of man-made global warming want the University of Wisconsin to consider revoking Patrick Michaels' Doctorate, according to leaked emails uncovered as part of the brewing 'climategate' scandal.

India just annouced it's 2020 target to reduce emissions by 20-25%. You don't even have to believe in Global Warming to understand that being PRO POLUTION is just plain ignorant. Also China announced a 40-45 percent cut in its emissions by 2020 compared to 2005. We need to start leading in this world again. Not buisiness as usual, that's how the voters spoke to elect Obama in the first place. A rejection of the bush policies and ideaology. Sorry Charlie Sykes....

India and China can “announce” anything they want to happen in 2020, SO WHAT. I am announcing right here and now that I am planning to rip a huge fart in the next 20 minutes; will it actually happen, WHO KNOWS. You just need to look at the L.A. basin to understand that the US can (and has) done a better job at cleaning up its air than any other country on earth and the key word is L.A. “basin;” that mountain range around a city that stagnates the air, that’s the additional problem LA had.

What you don't seem to get is that people who question the magnitude or validity of the extremists is that we are not pro-pollution. The scientists I associate with agree that doing nothing while more research is ongoing is not an acceptable answer. However, crippling our economy on possibly flawed research is even more ridiculous. And since you're so hung up on credentials, I have 30 years experience in all facets of meteorology, so get a clue what we really object to. Then learn to spell.

WE don't even really understand hopw the climate works and how it has changed in the last 20,000 years, to say nothing of the last million years. The best that we can do is conjecture. Why we'd want to turn the entire planet into cavemen is beyond me. Besides, given that cavemen were around during the ice age, being cavemen might contribute to global warming!

Oh by the way Rick Wagner does not believe in global warming either. Because of his close minded ideology, he cost all of the tax payers while they try to save an industry. He took in millions and didn't plan anything for the future of GM. Now we all pay for his ignorance. Get a clue. Wake up. These are simple issues. The buggy whip companies never thought the car would replace the horse and buggy either. History is what makes you people look ignorant. Ignore facts and see what happens.

Michael, sorry to burst your bubble here, but India has not and will not sign anything that has to do with co2 reduction. The only way they will do anything about their emissions is if there is funding available. In other words, they aren't going to kneecap their economy the way the left in this wants us to. And it may be all well and good to be an example to the rest of the world, but we shouldn't put ourselves in the poor house. http://www.reuters.com/article/hotStocksNews/idUSDEB0030972009120

The other argument that has always boggled my mind is the, "Well, at least the left is trying SOMETHING." What sense is there trying anything if it will not work, even if you seriously think it might. I might seriosly believe that chopping off my leg will help with global warming, that doesn't make it a good idea. We should try to reduce the amount of pollution we put out, but only if the methods for soing so make ecologic and economic sense.

That has been my problem with the “sky is falling” climatologist for decades now. The only weathermen who can predict the weather, CORRECTLY, for a 7-Day work week are the ones living in the Oregon Coast, cause it rains 80% of the year, in L.A., cause the SUN will always shine and Kodiak Alaska it will be cold and muddy. Every other prediction is usually wrong, and these guys think they know what the weather was 1,000 years before the thermometer was invented.

Yes. It's all about money and power. The lib's want the power to tell everyone how to live their lives and the scientists need the grants
