IT'S CALLED INDOCTRINATIONBy Charlie SykesKatherine Kersten reports on Minnesota's embrace of PC re-education. The first step toward "cultural competence," says the task group, is for future teachers to recognize -- and confess -- their own bigotry. Anyone familiar with the reeducation camps of China's Cultural Revolution will recognize the modus operandi...
The task group recommends, for example, that prospective teachers be required to prepare an "autoethnography" report. They must describe their own prejudices and stereotypes, question their "cultural" motives for wishing to become teachers, and take a "cultural intelligence" assessment designed to ferret out their latent racism, classism and other "isms." They "earn points" for "demonstrating the ability to be self-critical." The task group opens its report with a model for officially approved confessional statements: "As an Anglo teacher, I struggle to quiet voices from my own farm family, echoing as always from some unstated standard. ... How can we untangle our own deeply entrenched assumptions?" The goal of these exercises, in the task group's words, is to ensure that "future teachers will be able to discuss their own histories and current thinking drawing on notions of white privilege, hegemonic masculinity, heteronormativity, and internalized oppression." Future teachers must also recognize and denounce the fundamental injustices at the heart of American society, says the task group. From a historical perspective, they must "understand that ... many groups are typically not included" within America's "celebrated cultural identity," and that "such exclusion is frequently a result of dissimilarities in power and influence." In particular, aspiring teachers must be able "to explain how institutional racism works in schools." |

As the revelation of the "Global Warming" e-mails have pulled back the curtain on the enviro-coms, this should lay bare the intentions of the educrats. They are the tip of the spear. Be very concerned!

I pledge allegiance, to the Government, and to all those that are not like me. One color, under correct dogma, for the right to support others, and social equality, for all. That about right?

I also confess that after, insert your own adjectives, tax payers are gone that I don’t know who is going to pay for the governments lifetime dependence programs.

I confess that I have paid thousands of dollars in taxes so that the government can fund its lifetime government dependence programs for the oppressed classes. I also confess that I believe that the liberal statist government is the biggest oppressor of all time for keeping those same classes dependent for life.

"Heil Hitler!" the little children cheered, unaware of WHY they were swearing allegiance to their leader, knowing only that the Goldstiens, who the Fuhrer says is the reason for Mommy and Daddy's struggle, are terrible, inhuman monsters. At summer camp, they'll get a knife with a cool logo on it, and they get to learn chest-swelling patriotic songs, praising the Fuhrer and the great things he is doing for them. "Praise the Fuhrer, for we will all prosper for a thousand years!" they hailed.

I recently had to write a paper for a class about cultural identity. I basically wrote that I'm sick of other cultures being pressed onto me and that if I went to another country, I would not flaunt my own culture. I didn't get any points taken off, surprisingly, but there were several comments including my favorite one: "I [the prof] would caution you... to recognize your beliefs and biases about culture." No mention of confessions yet, but the recognition bit is in there.

OK, I'll confess. I don't like idiot liberals who think more taxes are the solution to everything. I don't like the welfare class that thinks government handouts are better than working like the rest of us. I don't overpaid, underworked union labor who can only think in a mob mentality. Boy, it works, I feel better already.

In the early 90s while getting my teaching degree, I got zero points for an assignment because I answered a question about my "homosexual" experience" by saying I had none. The teacher put in a note, "Everyone must have some sort of homosexual experience." The class was all about cultural diversity, etc., of course (a required course at UW-Madison.) I was dumb enough to even mention in a class discussion that I liked Rush Limbaugh - I was lucky to get a B/C - the lowest grade I ever got.

Unfortunately, I attend a private university that is quite wrapped up in this cultural indoctrination so it's not just public schools. The goal is to make us all "the same." Why can't I favor my own upbringing and culture? I, for one, am not going to be shamed into equating other cultures and beliefs to my own. There is nothing wrong with being proud of who you are.
