THANK YOU, PRESIDENT BUSHBy Charlie SykesFormer Hillary supporter has second thoughts about Dubya. We know absolutely no one in Bush family circles and have never met former President George W. Bush or his wife Laura. If you have been reading us for any length of time, you know that we used to make fun of “Dubya” nearly every day…parroting the same comedic bits we heard in our Democrat circles, where Bush is still, to this day, lampooned as a chimp, a bumbling idiot, and a poor, clumsy public speaker. Oh, how we RAILED against Bush in 2000…and how we RAILED against the surge in support Bush received post-9/11 when he went to Ground Zero and stood there with his bullhorn in the ruins on that hideous day. We were convinced that ANYONE who was president would have done what Bush did, and would have set that right tone of leadership in the wake of that disaster. President Gore, President Perot, President Nader, you name it. ANYONE, we assumed, would have filled that role perfectly. Well, we told you before how much the current president, Dr. Utopia, made us realize just how wrong we were about Bush. We shudder to think what Dr. Utopia would have done post-9/11. He would have not gone there with a bullhorn and struck that right tone. More likely than not, he would have been his usual fey, apologetic self and waxed professorially about how evil America is and how justified Muslims are for attacking us, with a sidebar on how good the attacks were because they would humble us. Honestly, we don’t think President Gore would have been much better that day. The world needed George W. Bush, his bullhorn, and his indominable spirit that day…and we will forever be grateful to this man for that. As we will always be grateful for what George and Laura Bush did this week, with no media attention, when they very quietly went to Ft. Hood and met personally with the families of the victims of this terrorist attack. |

Some men talk, incessantly. Others lead. Obamafan, you deserve a lifetime stupidity award. How many days did GWB have to make decisions? Days? I seem to recall lefties making a huge stink over how many SECONDS it took Bush to respond, in front of a class of young children, to being told United 175 had hit the south tower.

Say what you may but, Pres. Bush was NOT a lover of Muslims and showed he love Americans. He certainly NEVER went to foreign lands and "put his people down". When you show no respect for the people you were elected to lead, the people will soon realize what a terrible mistake they have made. Way to late.

I noticed the liberal response is getting more angry and irrational. It does raise the question as to maybe they are starting to realize "hope and change" and "we are the ones we've been waiting for" are merely empty slogans that have no connection to any specific policies that actually improve America? The other doubt comes in when you consider the reality that the further expansion of government does not translate into more economic growth and only leads to excessive debt.

Every war is a war of choice. Sick of hearing that liberal talking point about Iraq. Our country has and will continue to greatly benefit from removing Saddam and turning Iraq into a stable, functioning democracy. The big question is once Obama succeeds in undoing all the good Bush did in the war on terror what happens when people once again wake up from their slumber and realize we are less safe? A public that grew weary of Bush might appreciate him much sooner than anyone expected.

Please get your talking points in order.Lately all we've heard is how the right vigorously protested many Bush's policies and actions, now he has officially joined the Holy Trinity; Reagan, Palin and Bush. He never leveled with the American public about his wars; casualties (dead and wounded) are the currency of war and leaders don't start them unless they explain it to the citizen-we weren't asked to pay the price. He fought our wars on the cheap and our finest have to borne this shortchanging.
