How many more cases of jihad and honor killings do we have to see before the US and the West admit that the "religion of peace" is anything but.I heard Muslims holding prayer services in Chicago in a kind of a "COEXIST" atmosphere with "nominal" Christian groups. These prayer services are to prevent retaliation against Muslims. Where is their concern for the numerous deaths perpetuated towards our soldiers? If a Jewish person would do such a heinous crime, they would be treated differently.

As far as I'm concerned as a 6-yr Army vet, any recruiter who allows a Muslim to sign enlistment papers gives aid and comfort to the enemy. Any unit CO who finds he has a Muslim in his ranks needs to immediately initiate a Chpt. 13 discharge. If he won't, he needs to look the other way so the people in the unit can admin a blanket party to the infidel. Muslims are infidels to the US Army and should be treated in the same accord as Muslims treat their version of infidel-US Army Soldiers.

Sorry you're saddened Bridget, I am too. But when a man whose religion is understood by (at least) a sizable minority of its adherents to give moral sanction to killing unbelievers kills a bunch of unbelievers, it's seriously delusional to pretend it's just coincidence. You know, don't you, that this guy was shouting "Allahu Akbar" as he gunned down America's sons and daughters? Sounds like HE considered his religion part of the story.

I cannot begin to express my heartache over the tragedy that occurred at Fort Hood. I am saddened however to see so many responses going after Muslims and Islam. Until the truth comes out over what took place November 5th, we all need to come together as American’s and support our troops in this tragic time. God Bless Our Troops and Veterans.

On Youtube of course. Mind you his admin. instructed the media that he would be commenting on the Ft. Hood shooting before he said word one. It wasn't a 9/11 type thing where his aide whispered into his ear that a tragedy had occurred. He had knowledge of this event but decided to give some casino operators props for sending him piles of money and a shout-out to one in particular. Then, “oh yeah, btw, some army dudes were slaughtered today so now I'll act like IGAF..."

That there is no way this joke is actually our president.. I heard about his initial response to the Ft. Hood murder spree but to see it is sickening... Pat the sycophant crowd on the head and give a very presidential "shout-out" before eventually mentioning the slaughter of US miltary personnel as a post script.. pathetic..

I heard on the radio today (haven't read it yet) that part of the reason he was being reassigned was due to "problems" with the people he was supposed to be helping - the "problem" being he was trying to convince his patients to become Muslims!! I can't believe he wasn't drummed out of the service long before this happened - guess that would have been politically incorrect

I would like to know HOW ON EARTH anyone could possibly be a assigned a job to “counsul” our troops, who at the same time, is putting down our efforts overseas? Someone, who is putting down US Soldiers that are preparing to leave for overseas assignments. Someone, who is actually arguing with our soldiers about accepting a tour of duty overs

Just another random psychopath IMHO. I'm sure his religious beliefs played a role in the massacre just as the religious beliefs play a role in those who kill Doctors because they perform a legal medical procedure. Is it "terrorism"? yes in that it instill fear and terror in people, but unless the investigation proves otherwise, I'm inclined to believe that this was the act of an individual and not some sort of conspiracy.

The fact that Hasan embraces a religion with teachings that on their face tell believers to kill unbelievers could not have been a factor in this. It could not possibly have contributed to any individual sociopathy, nor could it have influenced how he reacted to or expressed any personal issues. It's bigoted and intolerant to suggest any of these might have been factors. When discussing these events, carefully avoid the mention of religion. No one takes religion seriously anyway, right?

From a former historian. Does the fact that Iraq was ruled by a man and his son's who tortured their own people count for anything. As much as the WMD and the oil arguments are debated, they are not correct. The fact is that bad people were removed from dictatorship. That is the legacy of the Bush Years.

The political correctness that infects common sense in America allowed the shooters unhappiness to erupt in a brutal, senseless act. More shocking is the Department of Homeland Security just named two Muslims to top posts. If an American Muslim who rose to the rank of major could commit mass murder, one has to wonder about the wisdom of those choices, admitted to the inner sanctum of the agency charged with protecting the nation.

Mike, you make a valid point. However, that is not what Hasan did. He is an American. He was not defending his own country from a foreign invader. Like one of the quotes in the news article about the shootings, you expected this sort of thing when you go over to Afganistan. Given Hasan's degree in psychology, he should have known better. There is no way anyone can claim his actions were justified.

Something to keep in mind. Fighting a war on terrorism is like fighting a war on jealousy. It's an unwinnable war. It will never go away. Fighting it only makes it stronger. Ask yourself, what kind of extremes would you go to if another country illegally invaded America, occupied it for 6 years and killed close to a million innocent civilians?

The first time the WTC was bombed, Clinton was the POTUS.Did you forget that Mad?Or were you an infant at the time?As I understand things, this man was not exactly a decorated officer. He was politely asked to leave his last post because he was ineffective. He was 'unhappy' about being deployed. If anything, perhaps a closer look at his recent behavior might have rooted him out of the army before he reached this point.

No I blame others in his administration. Big Oil's payoff to Republican leadership gave clearance to rape Middle Eastern country's soverignty and natural resources. When the Middle East objected, Bush attacked. Iraq is a perfect example. Bush used WMD as an excuse to hoard Iraqi oil. A cursory glance at the wealth of republicans reveals this. But they try to blame Obama.

An outgrowth of failed Bush policies? Do you really want to blame the Islamic Extremist hatred on President Bush alone? Was there this great peace and love for American before Bush was elected in 2000? I must have missed it. No! Bush stood up to them after 9/11 and fought against the people that want us dead. They wanted us dead before President Bushes term and they want us dead now, period. The ONLY thing the Obama's appeasement policy will accomplish is to embolden them.
