Also, look at clip 1 with all the people lookin to the sky when the Visitors first arrive. They talk of using our resources yet being able to replenish them at the same time and leaving us "better" than when they found us. Sounds a lot like the pretense of the stimulus.

To Ted: It's not a reach at all to understand that science fiction has always been modern man's version of the myths of olden times. Instead of using our myths to try to explain weather and fate and the origins of the world, as the ancients did, we use ours to comment on how things are in the here and now. If the creepy Visitor lady sounds a bit like a certain modern politician or two, it's because the writers are making a point about media manipulation. A good point, too!
Similar to the J.S. level of journalism. The type where a state-run media always portrays the governor and the states affairs in a positive light. With the exception of some ocassional glimpses of actual journalism.

It's scary out there. Beyond the usual whine from Yankee haters, I'm hearing lots of angst against what they represent: the free market, capitalism, expeptionalism and basically, a business owner who puts his money where he wants. I've heard a plethora of "spread the wealth" crap after last night's World Series win. God forbid, Obama tries to take over MLB.
@Jim and ijeff - Resist the Hypnotic effect!! It's really a reptile, hoping to devour you!! It's for Universal Health Care!! It will kill you eventually!! Run away!! Run away!!

I hadn't seen the show yet, but to my dismay I seem to be falling in love with a reptile! Is this how the "hope and change" messiah worship started?

Laying aside the politics for an instant, I watched this show and loved it! Too bad that chick is a reptile. She's hot!
