New Pew poll finds Obamacare opposed by a 13 point margin.
Regarding health care reform, many of the key provisions remain popular though support for the overall package has slipped. BCB, a solid majority of irresponsible people will always support someone else paying for what they want. They will also support insurance companies being forced to cover their self induced illnesses. Tell me how any of the massive new taxes and mandates on insurance companies will lead to lower cost health insurance. 50% of medical procedures are lifestyle related. Where are the mandates on individuals to take care of their health?

@BWC - there may be support for those particulars ideas - sorry, but the only bill we've been allowed to see in its entirety way oversteps these goals to destroy our current system and replaces it (at least eventually) with a Single-Payer (Fed run) system - BTW, support for "insurance mandates" probably means people can simply buy "catastrophic" insurance without having to pay for the mandates required in HR3200 - I can't believe people support mandates for everyone, anyway

Charlie: Did you click through to the link? If you did, you would have found that solid majorities support: coverage of preexisting conditions, insurance mandates, government subsidies for people who can't afford insurance, higher taxes on the rich to pay for insurance, and, finally, support for a government health insurance plan to compete with private plans. Perhaps another Obama speech would push support for these provisions even higher. Otherwise, nice post.
