Wow.
UPDATED: Thursday's debate between Alaska governor Sarah Palin and Delaware senator Joe Biden proved prognosticators correct and scored extremely high viewership.
Last night's debate totaled a 45.0 overnight meter-market household rating, according to Nielsen
That's 42% higher than Friday's presidential debate between John McCain and Barack Obama, which scored a collective 31.6 rating among the broadcast and cable networks.
It's also a stunning 60% higher than the 2004 debate between Dick Cheney and John Edwards. In fact, the figure surpasses any presidential debate since 1992's second bout between Bill Clinton, Ross Perot and George Bush (which received a 46.3 rating).

So for all of you whining about the Fairness Doctrine, and supporting Caribou Barbie despite her constant bumbling and obvious lack of knowledge or experience...what do you have to say to the fact that she just called freedom of the press a "privilege" that the media "abuses"? Now that is scary, don't you think? "then the press, though not taking advantage and exploiting a situation, perhaps they would want to capture and abuse the privilege."

how can obama give 95% of the people a tax-cut, when about one-third of the population don't pay taxes in the first place?? His $500 one-time give-away is an attempt to buy votes, and demonstrates his desire for huge income re-distribution - it's NOT a tax-cut for anybody!! He wants to eliminate the Bush tax-cuts, people!! That's called RAISING TAXES! it's still not enough to cover his spending plans...

Sam, you must mean economically challenged. When will you realize that trickle down economics doesn't work? Obamas plan will give 80% of American families and 95% of working families tax cuts. Bill Clinton proved that taxing the wealthy and balancing the budget can lead to unprecedented economic growth. Roger, the Fox poll was a phone poll--scientifically conducted, unlike anything on this site

Roger may be one of the more delusional right wing nuts. Apparently in Roger's world every poll is wrong because it doesn't conform to his far right beliefs. Face it, Obama is up in every poll right now and Biden won the debate in every poll. "Libs are panicking?" Really? I'm not panicked. I live in the reality based world where Obama is clearly ahead and Palin has a 70 IQ. You must be right though Roger. Every poll has been hijacked by evil, panicked liberals.

BO wants to eliminate the Bush tax cuts, therefore he is for raising taxes - what don't you get, demos? Also, raising taxes on corporations means higher prices for all of us, or that they'll leave the USA - I'm sorry to say this, but you demos are stupid, or should I say "economical-knowledgely challenged?"

Libs can vote online to Foxnews polls too - they've shut down a WGN-radio show when they had an anti-Obama author on.. - the LIBS are panicking and trying to distort public opinion any way they can

Sample Palin lies or "stupidity"? Al Qaeda is Shia--wrong again, it's a Sunni organization. General McKieren, not McClellan. Obama voted to raise taxes on families--wrong We're at pre-surge troop levels in Iraq--wrong McCain's health plan is budget neutral--not according to independent, non-partisan analysis. Obamas tax plan will raise taxes on millions of small businesses--wrong Obama voted 94 times to raise taxes--wrong Most English words ending in "ing" really end in in' Fox Poll Winner=Biden

I guess you haven't looked at any of the polls regarding who actually won the debate, including your precious Foxnews poll showing Biden won it hands down. Everyone likes to tune in to laugh at a village idiot like Palin. They were watching to see how badly she would screw up. But keep telling yoursleves it was because people like and respect her. "Dumb Sarah" isn't a narrative. It's proved true everytime she opens her mouth.

Mark Steyn had my favorite characterization of Senator Biden's performance - "glib faux expertise".

I bet the drive by media is kicking themselves for building up this debate with the "palin is a moron who isn't qualified for the job" meme. That drew interest and Palin came through in the clutch. Not only did she shine, her performance exposed those who were building up the 'dumb sarah' narrative.
