THE MEDIA GET A CHEESEHEARD GREETING

By Charlie Sykes

Backlash? Even in quiet little Cedarbug?

CEDARBURG, Wisc. -- Hundreds of angry people in this small town outside Milwaukee taunted reporters and TV crews traveling with Sen. John McCain on Friday, chanting "Be fair!" and pointing fingers at a pack of journalists as they booed loudly.

On the first leg of the "McCain Street USA" tour -- which will take the Republican presidential nominee and his running mate, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, to small towns across the heartland -- the 30 or so reporters and crew were walking back to their buses to join the McCain motorcade when hundreds of townspeople started yelling.

"Stop lying! You are all liars! Tell the truth!" one woman yelled from the front of the pack.

The crowd was not menacing or threatening, but was clearly angry.

"You're telling lies! Stop the lies!" one man yelled. Asked why the crowd was so angry, Linda J. Green of Mequon, Wisc., said: "I'm thinking the press is very biased."

I can't see how any fair minded person can't agree the mainstream media has seemed very biased in Obama's favor. It is very frustrating how blatant the bias is. It not news if it is your opinion.

Sarah Palin has a disarming smile with an upbeat attitude, even when attacking her opponents. It reminds me of Ronald Reagan. John McCain is a genius for picking her as his running mate.

tom-with the possible exception of the football game, the networks went to both conventions at 9p.m. every night. pbs covered both starting a 6 or 7. if nbc delayed coverage until after the game they correctly concluded that the convention had less entertainment value than "heidi."

Brew City- there was NOT the same coverage of the RNC and the DNC. I tuned into NBC on night and they had a football game on. They didn't switch over until the last speech of the night. In contrast,it was wall to wall coverage of the DNC by the networks. THAT's why people are fired up about the biased media. Question for all you brave liberals out there - why do you generally hide (nelson excepted) behind some "clever" pseudonym instead of using a name in your posts? "Oh look how smart we are!"

To Nelson, all we've heard in the past weeks are lies about Palin. Most have already been unequivocally proven to be false. What type of moonbat kool-aid do you drink? I find it incredible how invested in lies and deceit liberals have become to win what they thing they rightfully deserve. The ultimate in arrogance.

"Our beauty queen?" Oh, please . . . I was at the rally with my teenage daughters. I have to admitt that our favorite sign displayed there was "Obama for Prom King!"

Speaking of lies, Fox news covered some of McCain's: http://bourbonroom.blogs.foxnews.com/2008/08/31/does-john-mccain-have-a-tax-problem-answer-probably/

Nelson, even if you were correct about not saying anything negative about "...our beauty queen", we still have the right to expect the same treatment as the 'Messiah". That is reasonable, don't you think? After all aren't the Democrats the party of fairness?

Can't wait till the media "tells the truth " about Palin and McCain. The truth about the lies they have told and the real story about Palin. The true facts are all over credible sources on the internet and I have heard minimal coverage on T.V. Yea, I hope they tell the truth. How long is the McCain campaign going to hide Palin from the media? If we are supposed to hire her to work for us, we certainly have a right to interview her and see her answer the tough questions.

I was there, and stood in line for about an hour before being told there was no more room for anybody - and there were thousands with me who couldn't get in. I didn't hear anybody complain - everybody was very nice and polite (and having FUN!), and we listened to the police about staying off the street, etc. The Mainstream Media deserve anything yelled at them, for a change. I'm sure nobody was violent...

Charlie: Why don't you include the criticisms from rally-goers that claim that the networks didn't show the RNC show? The networks did, right? If so, what are some of these folks so exercised about? And why should we take their criticisms seriously? And why would you lie and say Barack Obama smoked crack? Can you document that?

Yeah yeah...oooh the big scary "librrul media". Those poor North Shore Nancies, you are just so oppressed. I think both conventions were on tv. I seem to remember all sorts of breathless coverage of every lie and rumor you tried to stir up about Obama. Get over yourselves. Or, go ahead and whine while you can. Get used to 8 years of a scary "librrrul" in office.

"Tell the truth!", actually means "Don't say anything negative about our beauty queen!".

What a difference between this crowd and the crowd in Minn.People can protest without hurting other people and wrecking property.
