Not exactly a shock: union hacks already lying about John McCain. Factcheck.org has the details.

The AFL-CIO is attacking McCain with a TV spot saying he voted "against increasing health care benefits for veterans." Actually, he voted for increases in those benefits.

Absolutely true. Except for the votes against increasing those benefits which McCain took along straight party lines. Those, he voted against.
