PJ O'Rourke:
Two substantive political issues are the federal budget deficit and the war in Iraq. Now, if you're electing Democrats to control government spending, then you're marrying Angelina Jolie for her brains. This leaves the Democrats with one real issue: Iraq. And so far the best that any Democratic presidential candidate has been able to manage with Iraq is to make what I think of as the high school sex promise: I will pull out in time, honest dear."

To Cage's question, "Since when did referring to sex, by itself, become sexist"? The answer is around the same time any reference to race became racist.

Here's a link to the entire speech he gave where those quotes came from. He bashes both parties in it. A good read though. (unless you believe government is the solution to anything) http://www.cato.org/pubs/catosletter/catosletterv6n2.pdf

Tase Me Bob, if the "whether you like it or not comment" was concerning Iraq it's obvious why that tact is being taken. The immediate withdrawl method, whether in sex or war works very seldom. Sure, a quick pull out sound great, until you realize either Syria, or Iran will be running the place six months later.

P. J. O'Rourke is the best (although, if you don't have a sense of humor, like Tase-Me-Guy and Offended Guy, you won't "get" him). Of his books, my personal favorite is "Eat The Rich", an awesome lesson in economics as practiced around the world. But all of his books and columns are great. His latest is "P. J. O'Rourke on 'The Wealth of Nations' ". Funny and enlightening.

Once again PJ demonstrates his wit. He's almost as good at riling up the liberal faction in this country as Ann Coulter. Pure Genius.

I agree with your post “Tase me Bob”, but you have a word misspelled so I would like to correct it for you. “While all the LIBERALS have to offer is, "I'll keep giving it to you whether you want it or not and you'll like it. Now, shut up."” Now that makes more sense, try not to let that happen again.

While all the Republicans have to offer is, "I'll keep giving it to you whether you want it or not and you'll like it. Now, shut up." I can see why Charlie and PJ like that better.

Offended Guy, get a life. This quote makes no distinction between men and women; it does not imply that one sex is superior to the other; it objectifies no one; and it does not demean women any more than it demeans men. It might be racey, but it is not sexist. Since when did referring to sex, by itself, become sexist?

This is sexist. As sexist than you "is cat calling okay?" segment yesterday.
