VICTIM OF THE FASHION POLICE?

By Charlie Sykes

You decide. Was this girl unfairly deprived of her prom experience by unreasonable school officials who said her outfit was too skimpy for prom?

She proves, once again, that kids will try ANYTHING, if we let them. The trick is not to let them. Good job, school officials.

I've seen Kleenex cover more! Jiminy Crickets! Someone should slap her mama!

Where's the ACLU to defend the rights of this poor girl? I am JOKING but would not be surprised to see that happen. And NO. That is not a dress. She is not a victim.

Apparently she does not have a mother.

Which one is the girl????

Seems to fit right in with the current state of teenagers and schools in Milwaukee. 50% graduation rate and one of the highest teen birth rates in the country...this shouldn't surprise anyone. The school officials, by the way, did the right thing...the parents sure didn't!

Where do you pin the corsage? And who the heck pins it on?

Is that a man or woman?

Dress is tasteless and shows no judgement, however the dress in question, the one on the left looks like a young man is wearing it!

Where are the parents, you ask? They're probably the ones taking the picture. Yuck.

I think this dress is very appropriate. I remember when I was a young sailor in Puerto Rico; I went down to old San Juan to a place called Luna Street to find a “girl friend”. All the girls were wearing these types of dresses, some even less. I guess this young lady just wants to start her chosen career path as soon as possible. Depending what neighborhood she works street walkers make pretty good money.

My first thought was of course she was. Then I noticed it said "Prom" and not "Porn".

The school was actually right! This out fit looks like a bathing suit.

you've GOT to be KIDDING. She looks like she's looking for something other than a prom

THIS IS AN INCREDIBLE LACK OF COMMON SENSE AND GOOD JUDGEMENT ON BOTH THE THE KIDS PART AND ESPECIALLY THE PARENTS ASSUMING THEY NEW. MANY MOTHERS ESPECIALLY MOTHERS WHO ALLOW THEIR YOUNG DAUGHTERS TO DRESS LIKE "PROSTITOTS"

To me, the individual on the left looks like a guy with a slight hormonal imbalance. In any event, it's completely inappropriate prom attire.

Wow - school was right to not let her in. Not too much for the imagination there....

Dress? What Dress? She looks like a cheap hooker! Thumbs up for the school, somebody had to step in on this one.

The school was right- if my daughters had even thought of leaving the house dressed like that they would still be grounded

Prom Dress??? More like a strippers outfit. What's the matter with this girl? Show some respect. Be a parent.

Monday, May 12 at 10:31 AM Darrell wrote ...

Her parents let her leave the house like that?

Monday, May 12 at 10:23 AM Peggy wrote ...

School officials exercised good judgement in giving her the boot! One false move on the dance floor and there would have been a free show for all in attendance. I cannot believe the adult(s) in her life let her spend her money on this...and shame on them if they spent THEIR money on this ridulous excuse for a dress!

If it's the one on the left, what about the mustache?

Monday, May 12 at 10:21 AM R. Madison wrote ...

My goodness. I think the school was in the right. She had way too little on to go to the high school dance, as others have said, this isn't the beach. I am sure she was looking for a reaction- and she got it.

Oh my gosh! This outfit reminds me of the one worn by the rapper lil kim. My daughter attended prom this year and if she would have wanted a dress like that I would have thrown her in the nearest covent. This does not constitue a dress by any means. I can't belive her parents would let her purchase something so distasteful. That dress probably costs more than my wedding dress.

She was very appropriately dressed....for the Playboy Prom! Good grief!

Monday, May 12 at 10:00 AM ej/sussex wrote ...

she would be arrested as a hooker almost anywhere.

Monday, May 12 at 9:34 AM Chris wrote ...

What parent lets their teenage daughter out like that?

Monday, May 12 at 9:32 AM Kurt/Elkhorn wrote ...

The only thing this young lady was deprived of was good judgement. She couldn't even get into a restaurant do to health laws. Is she trying to make a statement with this "dress"?

Monday, May 12 at 9:27 AM Amy P. wrote ...

I wear more than that to go to bed. Even if I had a body like that, I wouldn't dress like I was going to the beach. Dressing like that isn't fashionable, it's disrespectful of your body and your dignity.

Good. God. And please pray tell...where were this girl's parents???
