CHICO, California - Aaron Rodgers' hometown of Chico, California is proud of its Super Bowl MVP, including one guy who went to school with him.

"It's just great seeing the hometown hero take MVP," said Terry Lane after the Packers' 31-25 win over the Steelers in Super Bowl XLV.

He went to Butte College, a community college in the area, with Rodgers before the Packers quarterback attended the University of California.

Lane watched the game, including the final moments of the win, at Montgomery Street Pub in Chico.

"He took that knee, and we were taking that knee with him.  It was a very touching moment, somebody from my hometown who I went to college with.  I never felt a high like that before."

It was all to celebrate a Super Bowl winner who remembers his roots.

"He doesn't forget where he came from.  He won that convertible (the award for Super Bowl MVP), and I guarantee he'll drive it right back and probably give it to his folks."
