Fisher House Steps Up For Feds' Failure
One of the most disgraceful effects of the partial government shutdown is how it is hitting the families who lose loved ones killed in combat. Bureaucrats have deemed that the "death gratuity", a payment of $100,00 to help families during this difficult time, is non-essential funding and has been suspended during the shutdown. Now, the Fisher House Foundation is stepping up by stepping in and donating this payment to these families instead. Dan Buttery, Fisher House Wisconsin Board of Directors President, discusses how you can help the cause, including that of the family of the Milwaukee soldier killed in Afghanistan last weekend.
